RE: babysitting

Poetry reading tonight. We needed a babysitter. We found one. She wrote asking where our house was. Martin replied:

Super! We live on a hill and in a valley, everywhere and nowhere. On a tree and in an acorn. Squirrel mouth!

She never arrived tonight. I turned on the TV and told the kids not to climb counters or play with matches. I attended the poetry reading. We saved $20.

I don't know why she never made it, the directions were superb. Squirrels made good baby sitters, by the way. They bury all the kids under a tree and you can dig them up in Spring.

The first time you leave them alone is earth shattering. Or not.
Sounds like you needed the break.
But Poetry reading?
Isn't that what you guys do for work?
Should have changed venues and gone to a tractor pull or Big Truck extravaganza.

Hey, hey, I was just kidding about the babysitter. She got real directions and arrived. We won't leave the kids alone for a few years yet :).
