For reflections on back-to-school/Autumnal stress and the importance of slowing down to watch caterpillars, please click on the geranium at right to read my article this week.
Hurrah for butterflies! One of our caterpillars crawled up the girls red curtain and assumed his position there, so we haven't been touching the curtain, afraid to lose the precious green crysalis. . .they're surprisingly strong, however.
Auntie has found the perfect place for her morning contemplations. She made that Butterfly garden for my Father's Day present, and it is in full glory. I moved the Adirondack chairs and umbrella out there after Irene. It is crawling with Hummingbirds and Butterfly's in the AM and evening.
For her anniversary (our 30th! No freaking way!) I told her I will build a flagstone patio there. It's right next to the firepit, so we can sit out there on milder days in the Fall and Winter too.
I live, write, and work in a sweet town perched on the edge of Puget Sound. My work has been published in a variety of genres, including poetry, fiction, and children's literature. I love sharing my passion for words and community with folks of all ages, from elementary school students to adults, and have been privileged to do just that for many years as a teacher, journalist, spiritual writer, and friend. Pots of tea abound.
