Snow Day

What bliss! Sledding in the company of good people!

The day was perfect: warm, in the 30's, snowing all day, with snow from our horribly cold week underneath. Highlights include Elspeth flying into the forsythia bush and our friend John almost hurling though our tire swing. We capped off the sledding with hot chocolate spiked with Khalua and lots of popcorn.

And of course we made the trek to our friend Sally's house that night for a huge supper-brunch so Martin could witness the Steelers winning their place in the Superbowl.

This has been a rare day, filled from top to bottom with the delight of dear human company.

Thanks to T M for the great pictures, since we are too lazy to dig up our camera.

I woke up this am to a change in forecast.
They are now calling for six inches of snow here tonight and tomorrow through lunchtime, which will paralyze this area completely.

I'll probably spend the afternoon shoveling that lousy white **** off my driveway tomorrow so we are not stuck for three or four days, as it is supposed to get back down in the teens again Weds morning.
That will turn anything on our driveway I haven't scraped off into solid ice.

First real snow we've had since Ariel's soph year of HS, so we're overdue.

Your auntie and the dogs will no doubt have a blast, but I will be lucky to fall out of bed on Weds.

I'm getting too old for this stuff!

Your pictures are wonderful, sounds like one of those days that you will all recall fondly many years from now.

To make my increasingly foul mood worse, normally this time of year we are in Orlando for the biggest trade show/expo of our industries year.
In their overwhelming wisdom the big bosses decided that they would send me to Baltimore in May instead, even though all of my customers from this area go to Orlando.

Someone that is down there just called me to rub it in that it is 72 degrees and gorgeous there.

Hope they get bitten by skeeters and lose their rental car!
